The Cha Textiles Group was founded by Mr. Cha Chi-man in 1949 in Hong Kong. The group primarily engages in the production and sales of traditional textiles and industrial non-woven products, including spinning, weaving, wax-printed fabrics, and dyed fabrics. Following the development of new technologies, the group's business has expanded to include synthetic fibers and yarns, digital printed fabrics, polyurethane slices, elastic threads, and elastic bands. The international business network established by the group spans across Hong Kong, mainland China, West Africa, Europe, and the United States.
The group's expansion mainly relies on the business development of its subsidiary companies, but some growth has also come through acquisitions and joint ventures. Strategic investments are made in projects that aim to increase productivity, improve management, enhance branding, or provide the group access to new markets. Some members of the group are publicly listed companies, while most are wholly owned by Cha's Group. The group maintains a consistent and rigorous approach to managing assets and liabilities, with particular attention to the risks of foreign exchange fluctuations and raw material price changes.
The group possesses unique technologies and craftsmanship, alongside a senior management team that is world-class. Over the past few decades, the group has completed numerous production process innovations, invested in new equipment, improved efficiency, developed management talent, conducted training programs, and launched new products and markets. The group has also entered into higher-value design and wholesale sales businesses. These preparations have equipped the group with the confidence to pursue development in the 21st century.
Mr. Cha arrived in Hong Kong from China in 1949 and established the first enterprise of Cha Group — China Dyeing Holdings Ltd — in Tsuen Wan. At that time, the China Dyeing Holdings Ltd was one of the most advanced printing and dyeing bases in Asia, producing high-end fashion fabrics and leading in both craftsmanship and environmental protection.
In the African market, Cha Group has been recognized as a highly cost-effective and reliable textile supplier with an African identity after nearly four decades of operation. Most of the group's production bases are located in Africa, employing over 19,000 people and possessing the capacity to produce ten million yards of printed fabric monthly.
In Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, Cha Group operates several factories producing yarn, fabric, elastic threads, and chemical products. The total number of domestic employees has reached over six thousand. Some factories have been recognized as the best textile enterprises in the province, contributing to foreign exchange earnings and economic development. The group was also selected as one of the top 100 overseas Chinese-funded enterprises from 2000 to 2002. The enterprise features a fully integrated production line, meeting all garment fabric needs in one stop. Most products are exported to Japan and other overseas markets.
The renowned Cha Technologies Group has engaged in years of research and development in North America, Europe, and Asia, developing innovative processes with the capability to provide new products that meet market demands. The group develops and services textile markets worldwide, including non-woven fabrics, synthetic fibers and yarns, digital printing, and heat transfer printing paper. Each product category has become a major supplier within its specific market range. The group's non-woven fabric production facilities offer various products used in aerospace, automotive, bedding, construction, equestrian products, filtration, footwear, health and hygiene products, and gardening. The production of synthetic fibers and yarns utilizes the most advanced processes to create a series of bi-component synthetic products, which are adopted by excellent suppliers in the garment, automotive, filtration, hygiene, and other industries. The group also employs the most advanced and widest circular screen printing equipment to produce heat transfer printing paper. Other group members utilize the latest direct digital printing technology and produce TPU slices, elastic threads, and elastic bands.
